This year it is especially important to take care of your health. With the COVID-19 pandemic happening an emergency is even more serious and the timing of these things is so much more complicated. That is why many people are doing everything that they can in a situation to end up staying out of hospitals or even dentist offices. I think that this is actually a wise goal but it is still important to take the risk for a checkup biannually due to the need of fighting off actual emergency situations. I am most excited to work on upping my own dental health during this time to avoid unnecesarry issues. So lets go over a few ways to improve on the whole dental situation.
The first thing to think about is ways you can improve upon your own habits. Habits are the driving point to the average dental routine and can help you out by not costing you money on emergency surgeries or visits to the dentists for actual pain. So this is important to think about and most people are not working on their habits even though they are working from home. I think if your job has transitioned into working from home during the 2020 pandemic then this is the perfect time to start working on your habits. I am certain that this is the time to up your regular dental practices.
Most people average with a rather low threashold for dental health. They blame the dentist visits for the reason they don't want to work on their teeth. The reality is and I am even guilty of this is that I wait to late to see the dentist to prevent major health issues. I usually just wait until I am acutally feeling pain or an issue before seeing the dentists and that ends up being a real problem in the long run. I am certain that if I worked on my health more then I would actuall end up saving money in the long run.
My general habit is to brush my teeth once to twice a day and use mouthwash around 3 to 4 times a week. The days where I am only brushing my teeth once is a big issue and evnen the ADA states that the average person should be brushing their teeth twice a day, every single to to help avoid dental issues. Getting rid of plaque and food buildup that can lead to tartar is important. That is why everyone should strive to increase their daily routines in order to avoid major issues and to protect their teeth.
It would be a great thing to actually add in an aditinoal habit of brushing my teeth three times a day and flossing once at night. I am certain that this would give my health a big boost and if I end up visiting the dentist twice a year I can certainly stay ahead of major issues. Now that I am working from home I know that I can add in an extra brushing as long as I do it as a habiit. My goal is to add an alarm to my phone after each lunch in order to brush again. This is set currently for thity days, which is how long it usually takes to form a solid habit. Hope these tips help
